F.A.Q. & Other Info

Q. If I go on holiday and leave my dogs at home with a friend or neighbour just popping in to check on them, can you walk them?

Unfortunately not, it is a requirement for you to have in place a suitable environment for your pets to be cared for, it is against the law to simply leave your dogs at home without supervision whilst you go out of the country.

Q. Will I meet my new dog walker?

Yes of course, we will always send your local dog-walker to meet yourself and your pet.

Q. Do you offer upgrades or extensions to the walk?

We are very flexible as long as you contact your local dog-walker as soon as possible.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

Please see our Terms and Conditions page for our policy.

Q. What do you do in case of emergency?

We first call you (The Client) to discuss the situation and to sort out the best plan of action, if you (The Client) cannot be reached and medical attention is required we will take your pet to the vet designated by you or the nearest to our current location.

Q. What security measures do you have?

Your key will be kept secure and away from personal information and no key can be identified to any property. Other Security Measures include: CCTV transport and carried protection on walks, caged  transport with dog and walker cabin locking anti hijack door locks.

In the event of your key being lost or stolen we will advise you, also your personal information will never be sold or discussed with any 3rd parties, as per the Data Protection Act.

“The Walk-A-Dog team puts the safety and security of your dogs a top priority”

Q. Are you insured?

Yes. Walk-A-Dog holds full public liability insurance, which also includes cover for care, custody and control of animals and full Key Cover. All new clients can see a copy of our insurance certificate.

Q. Do you walk dogs off the lead?

Yes, but only with the owners written consent.

Q. Can you administer my pets medication?

Walk-A-Dog are happy to administer medication for your pet(s)

Q. Do your services cater for all dog breeds?

We take each dog on its own merit and not on reputation of particular breeds. We meet all dogs before we walk them and each new dog is subject to a trial period. Any instances of aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and those dogs will be barred from our walks.

Extra Information

Dog Collars & ID Tags

As responsible dog owners and professional dog walkers, we ensure that we operate within the law. Before we walk your dog, please ensure he/she has an identity tag attached to their collar that displays the legal owners name & address. It is an offence for any dog to be in a public place without this form of ID tag even if the dog is micro-chipped.
